LOCAL INFORMATION
Frome is the hidden gem of the West Country, with more listed buildings than almost any other small town in the region. Its quaint, its unusual, and certainly is different from almost any other town!
The Bridge, Frome. One of the few bridges in England to have shops built on it!
If you want lots of High Street multiples, then Frome is probably not the town for you. But if you are looking for small individual shops in abundance, then Frome offers the shopper an almost unmatched shopping experience. Its unique in the fact that it has two very distinct shopping areas, firstly Catherine Hill, a winding hill that will test any shopper with many delights in the form of small yet interesting shops, and a cobbled street to boot. Cheap Street (where we have a shop) is a medieval thoroughfare, the word Cheap being an old word for market. Its must be one of the first shopping precincts, as cars cannot go down it, and there is a stream (or a leet to use its proper name) that runs through the middle of it. Cheap Street has many small individual shops, where you can also have a lovely lunch at the Settle, or coffee at La Strada. King Street offers two really excellent dress shops, Coco & Spirit.
